If my life was a movie, this is how I would like to be kissed.
TOP 10 ONSCREEN KISSES THAT I LUUUUURVE
10. Audrey Hepburn-George Peppard: Breakfast At Tiffany’s
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2i6NvRHPRlg
I heart how this beautiful love story is punctuated by a kiss in the rain with a cat between them. That is an ultimate ‘Awwwwie’ moment for me.
It can only happen in a movie, because try squishing a cat that too in the rain! She’ll claw you so much that it’ll look like you just had a BDSM & not a tender kiss of true love.
9. Julia Roberts- Richard Gere: Pretty Woman
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIl-h6IQKn0
Modern day fairy-tale. Where Edward climbs a fire escape to have his Happily Ever After with her. It makes my heart goes *sigh* each time I watch it.
8. Princess Fiona-Shrek: Shrek
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ENvjZEckL8
It’s the textbook kiss of true love that transforms you, how can anyone not want it.
Although, true love or whatever in real life: a. I can never kiss an ogre. Eeeeeww & b. I’ll kill the person who’ll turn me into one.
7. Demi Moore-Patrick Swayze: Ghost
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=895PZQJK5TM
It is a scene which makes me so sad & yet so happy at the same time. I want it to end this way & I don’t want it to end this way. The dichotomy of the emotions that I feel here is so surreal. To get a chance to kiss goodbye to someone you’ve thought that you’ve lost, is so beautiful.
It is one of those beautiful things that you would like to see but not have. It’s one of the scenes I love to watch. But I know it’ll never happen to me not here not in a movie not anywhere. Because I don’t want to have this kiss. But, more importantly, because the man whom I love, I’ll never let him die. Ever.
6. Ingrid Bergman- Humphrey Bogart: Casablanca

A kiss is just a kiss in Casablanca
The sparks & the magnetism of unrequited love of a woman. The heartfelt romance. The selflessness of a man who saves the life of the husband of the only woman he ever loved. What’s not there to like?
The reason it can never happened to me in real life is: I’ll never let my love to be unrequited.
5. Kirsten Dunst-Tobey Macguire: Spiderman

He saves her from getting raped!
So, Knight in Shinning Armor, like a fairytale? Check
Mask, the kink factor? Check
Mystery & unknown, adrenaline rush? Check
Rains, Bollywood fetish? Check
Superhero? Check
Now only one problem, in having this in real life. Where on earth I’ll find a superhero hanging upside down?
4. Kate Winslet-Leonardo Di Caprio : Titanic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrEzEkZJGIs
The sea, the breeze, the deck, the costumes, the setting sun, this kiss is as perfect as a kiss can get.
Sadly, it can happen only in the movie. Though the movie claims it was real but I don’t think so. Or, at least in my case I don’t think so.
First of all, I don’t think anyone’ll let me climb on the top of a ship. People are so protective of me so probably the guy will be like, “Ok hold tight…no let me stand in front…are you sure, you are comfortable?” And la..di..da. Hypothetically, even if I get in that position, I won’t make a pretty picture like Kate Winslet. My hair’ll get all frizzy, courtesy: the humid air & my entire focus’ll be “Oops! I am not looking good.” Again assuming that it is one of those days, when I have used a lot of leave in conditioner, I don’t think I’ll be able to stop at the kiss. And the minute you hit the second base, the beauty of kiss just goes away.
3. Anushka Sharma-Ranveer Singh: Band Baja Baraat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnDDYmrk-tY
For one simple reason: For the first time in Bollywood, a girl that too heroine is initiating the kiss. This makes it a landmark scene in History of Indian Cinema.
2. Tom Hanks- Meg Ryan & the Dog: You’ve Got A Mail
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cjvwTzhG8g
Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan are always magical together and so is this kiss.
I like the kiss because of the honesty with which Meg Ryan says, “I wanted it to be you.”
If there was a person whom I hated till death. And if there was a person I whom I trusted with my life. And the moment when I’ll find out that these two people are the same, I’ll be too proud to say, “I wanted it to be you.”
Even if I’ll feel truly, deeply, passionately & absolutely in love with him, all I would say will be,”I can’t believe you had the audacity to come here. You threw me out of business. A shop given to me by mother which I was treasuring for my unborn daughter.”
Thus, like this, I will lose perhaps the only chance life had given me for true love & happiness.
I know a kiss like this happens to people, but to me, the only shot to it is if my life was a movie. In real life my pride’ll come in between him & me.
However, the reason I luuuurve it is because of the role the dog plays in it. To most of you it’ll not make any sense, but anyone who has a golden retriever will nodding right now with me.
BUT MY #1 FAVORITE ONSCREEN KISS IS:
1. Rhett Butler & Scarlett O’ Hara: Gone With the Wind
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cam41uFRaXY)
It wasn’t about sex, it wasn’t about steam, it wasn’t even about “Let’s make it a wet dream for the audience” or “Let’s make the viewers go awwwww”.
No, it was all about love & longing. The helplessness of a proud man, Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) who’s shunning his pride and admitting his love to a woman who he knows won’t reciprocate it. But he has to say, because he doesn’t know if he’ll see her again. He kisses her without her permission. Yet at no point we feel that he has violated her personal space.
The kiss is all about the helplessness of a woman, Scarlett O’ Hara (Vivien Leigh), whose body is surrendering to this man & her mind is pulling her away She’s torn between her prejudices, her social conditioning, her calculative brain & pure, stubborn desires of her heart.
The scene is pictured exactly the way it is written in the book. Exactly the way I’ve imagined. Rhett proposing to Scarlett against the backdrop of Atlanta burning, the flame-red sky merging with Scarlett’s hair. She slapping for his presumption.
I know my life needs to be a movie to get this kiss. As who says the words that Rhett says:
“There’s one thing I do know, and that is I love you, Scarlett. In spite of you, in spite of me & in spite of the whole silly world going to pieces around us, I love you. Because we are alike. Bad lots, both of us. Selfish & shrewd, but able to look things in the eyes & call them by their right name. I am not asking you to forgive me, I’ll never forgive & understand myself.
Scarlett! Look at me! I’ve loved you more than I’ve ever loved any woman and I’ve waited for you longer than I’ve ever waited for any woman.[kisses her forehead & then forcing her to look him in the eyes] Here’s a soldier of the South who loves you, Scarlett. Wants to feel your arms around him, wants to carry the memory of your kisses into battle with him. Never mind about loving me, you’re a woman sending a soldier to his death with a beautiful memory. Scarlett! Kiss me! Kiss me… once…“
And then he takes off his hat & kisses her. A kiss of love.

You’ve got great taste in movies, and kisses of course.
Heee heee heee since you’re able to appreciate it, I am sure that so do you 😉
Mickey Rooney did play the Japanese person. Rooney is of British origin. At Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the part is politically incorrect. Leonard Maltin said, “Don’t judge them, try to understand they were of that time.” Lot of changes.
